Patrick turned 30 on Friday!! We celebrated with family dinner; homemade soup & salad. Yes, that is what my hubby wanted. Three soups and a delish salad. After hours we pretended like we were young and kidless and went to Kells Irish Pub (a place we enjoyed before we were married) with friends. The men enjoyed cigars in the basement and the women had late night snacks and chatted. We actually stayed out till 12:30am. No lo creo!!
Saturday afternoon we loaded the car with our good friend David and his girlfriend Marlo for a night away in Forest Grove. We went wine tasting (I the DD) and stayed at a local McMenamins. We had yummy pub food and listen to a band called the Dimes. We even got David to dance with all the hippies on the dance floor!!
Classic David and PK photo at our first stop. Needless to say the ladies in the tasting rooms were pleasantly entertained by the comical duo.
It was a nice birthday/babymoon getaway. We actually have a short list of 3 names to take to the delivery room. It's nice to have a short list considering we are 5 weeks away from d-day :) Little man Kelley should be fully grown and continuing to put on the pounds. I've definitely noticed a recent increase in belly size. I actually fell asleep during Reesa's nap today. I can count the number of times on one hand when I have napped when Reesa napped. Who knew 2 hours at a play gym would wear me out so badly? :)
In other news. Reesa has always been into playing with her babies but a recent baby is her new favorite. Baby brother doll. Our friend Christie gave this to Reesa last month and she loves to feed him, change him, and rock him in the doll carrier. She even places the carrier on the stroller like you would an infant. Absolutely precious. I know we are going to have some adjustments with having a new addition to the family but it's nice to see her fascination of newborns and her love to help. Today she loved helping me grocery shop. She would walk alongside the cart and place items in our cart. Some were on the list and others she decided on her own. It was a fun afternoon activity.
I love how she surprises us each week with new interests and abilities. Tonight after dinner the 3 of us had a dance party in Reesa's room and she told us that she was tired, it was tough jumping for that long. Never ceases to amaze me.
