Last night has been officially two months since we arrived. It definitely hasn't been easy. Patrick is the coolest husband ever and always finds a way to calm the ever so passionate Hispanic that I am. We were talking about how we think we should know more and we thought we would get a routine down by now. How do you get a routine down when you have 6 hours to kill in the middle of the day? Napping. Napping and then going to the gym. Do you think that is easy? No way Jose. I hate napping because I think it's a tease to a real night's sleep and working out and then showering and placing all my make-up back on and blow drying so that I can look as professional as I did at 6:00am. Maybe for Patrick who has the whole it takes 5 minutes to look this fabulous down. We are hoping to only have to work mornings soon. Keep your fingers crossed, I think I am next in line for October. Wouldn't it be nice to walk home with wet hair and a clean face knowing you can look like this for the rest of the evening?
Well, yesterday morning as I was trying to get two of my female students to topic write; one student asked me, "How long have have you been here now?" When I said two months, they both looked shocked. I asked them why and they commented, "You don't complain about Korea." I told them that I chose to come here and it can be difficult but I shouldn't complain to them. That is what Patrick is for :)
I couldn't believe they were impressed by us, that we like it here. It's not like a New York or anything, it's much more spread out. However, there is a lot to do, people are friendly, and I love seeing what everyone is wearing!!
Last night was Patrick's company dinner, they have one a couple times a year. We went to a Korean restaurant and Phil (a recruiter) was there with his wife and 3 year old son. Did I get the baby itch, you bet :) He had blonde hair and tan skin, very unusual and sooooo adorable. Phil was saying that his wife was in the hospital for 4 days and they only paid $400 for the entire stay. It's very safe to have a child here, Koreans have them, why can't I? We are not seriously trying to have a baby, but at least we know that if it happens, it wouldn't be too expensive. Always nice to look at the positive sides of things.
