On Sunday a group of us went to the Olympic Stadium to participate in the 10k / half marathon race. The intention of the race was to openly support that Dokdo is Korean territory and does not belong to Japan. The organization is traveling all around the world and will end its tour in South Africa for the 2010 World Cup. Who knew that signing up for a Sunday morning run would constitute for so much political controversy? I didn't even get a t-shirt!!

The morning started out at Starbucks, of course. We met up with Jon and Arla, along with two of Patrick's co-workers, Joyce and Belle. We headed over to the stadium with plenty of time to stretch and get the muscles nice and warm. I was the designated photographer again, and this time Arla joined me. She didn't train quite up to her standard this time around, so she sat this one out too. I just have a belly. With both of our cameras in action, we got tons of great shots.

As the group was getting ready to take off, we had some pre-race massage time. The little Korean man was really getting into. I was rooting for the old man to do well, but not beat my hubby.

Not only was there a pre-massage, there was music playing for those that were hanging out in the stands.

Patrick finished with a PR of 1:31. Jon finished right behind Patrick and only threw up twice while running. Needless to say, he was starving after the race.

It turns out you get a prize for being the first foreigner to finish.

Not really, this car was at the end of our hill as we were heading to our evening race tradition.
Brasilia Steak House!!!! It was a good day.
