Last night we ventured out of our hustle and bustle of Korea's trendiest hot-spot, aka, the area we live in; to check out a more funkier place. Hongdae is an hour away and is one of the artistic scenes in Seoul. Granted, some Koreans still manage to show off in an artsy environment. Observe orange Lamborghini below.

We began the evening with a stop off at the cocktail stand. Cock-tail in a bag for 3,000won. I forget that you can wonder the streets with an open container in some areas. Of course mama Maria was sportin' the 700won bottle water from the local mini mart. I'm a cheap date :)

After we quenched our thirst, we took a stroll in the park where you can find local artists and vendors that sell their own craft. Now, this is not a large area; think Saturday market in Portland and take about two rows of that, and you have the open market in Hongdae. It was small, but fun to peruse the "boutiques" to see the individual art being displayed.

Dinner was at a nice Italian eatery where we family-styled it up. This is one of the best things about restaurants in Korea. A group can order 3-4 dishes and the meals come with small dishes so that everyone can share and have a taste of the yumminess. To digest our meal, we went back to the park where the open market turns into a music fest. You have your rappers, in Korean of course, and a local band. They were very entertaining to watch to say the least. I can't describe the performance, hence, the beauty of technology. Enjoy!!
Have you ever heard of a nori-bong? Well it's a private karaoke room. Check out our outside doorman. Click on the photo to get a better view of his outfit.

We, I mean "I" could not stay up past midnight, so we left before the group headed to an ice bar. As our time in Korea is now down to the 5 week mark, we are excited, but will definitely treasure all of our experiences here.
