This Week

This week Reesa weighed in at 13lbs and is 29inches long. A growing girl. We weighed her nakers on our home scale. We had to practice some modesty for the photo.

This week I decided to take a photo of her feet. Most parents do this right away because their baby's feet are so small and cute. Reesa really never had small cute feet or toes. Don't get me wrong the are cute, just not small. She has long feet and long toes.

This week we bought an umbrella stroller with a 5-point harness. Why? Because the super cute umbrella stroller we have has a 3-point harness and the back does not adjust for an infant under 6 months. We gave a visit to our friend craigslist and found this beauty for half the cost and it's only a month old. Gotta love that! But also leads me to my next point.

This week I feel like I should write a book for new moms. I know that I've only been a mom for 3.5 months, but I seriously feel like I have so much to share and it could turn into a series of books based on my own experience each year. There has to be other moms that share my joys and frustrations, and the infamous, "I wish someone had told me this..." It probably would be more like a sociological type of book because it's based on my individual observations and from a very skewed perspective, but I think I could throw my own Latin flare to make it witty and worth a read, no?

This week has also been a tough one. Reesa and I have been doing the battle of the "no pacifier". We placed her in baby rehab last week and the results are more positive than negative. However, when she cries just because, it's a bit more difficult to settle her down than before when I would give her the pacifier. Then there's the 2am cry when you know that if you just give it to her she will go back to sleep. Patrick and I lost that battle two nights ago. We're human, we need our sleep. :)

In lieu of the pacifier, Reesa has developed a strong affection for 4 of her very special friends; her cow, kitty, ducky, and monkey. Below is an example of Reesa and her monkey.
This week I was able to write a somewhat comprehensive blog reflecting my thoughts. I know my family loves to see pictures and videos of Reesa, but I need an outlet as well, so I tried to do both this week. A big thanks to Grandpa Larry for playing with Reesa this morning and putting her down for her morning nap. Because of that I could blog.
