Sunday was a great first Mother's Day. I slept in till 8am and when I headed downstairs Patrick and Reesa had just gotten back from the store. Fresh brewed coffee awaiting me, donuts as a morning appetizer, and bacon and potatoes on the stove cooking away.
After brunch we went for a long 2hr walk to work off the enormous feast we had just endured. At 5pm we headed over to Mosaic and topped the evening off with a family dinner at the Kelley House. It was a wonderful day and I got exactly what I wanted: quality family time, just the 3 of us. Couldn't ask for a better Sunday.

In other news, Reesa is still growing like a weed!! We are going for her 6month check up. I can't believe my baby is 6 months old!! She is talking more....I think her first word is going to be "dada". I love that. She's starting to pick herself up to crawl but it ends up being more of a worm dance move. No teeth yet, but she loves to put everything in her mouth. We recently added a new member to Reesa's toy collection. Meet Sophie.
Sophie is an all-chewable toy. Reesa loves to hold Sophie by her neck and chew on her ears and nose. Then when she's done with that she flips Sophie upside down and chews on her legs. Sometimes it's just one and other times she has two or three in her mouth at a time. Of course baby girgles come with this process and it's so cute to watch her interact with Sophie.
As you know, Reesa loves being out and we are starting to make more plans outside as the weather begins to warm up. We've been going on walks, having coffee with friends, making mommy group plans, and of course the Portland Monthly Magazine was a perfect fit for my current situation. I love Portland summers.
Our home is starting to feel more like our home. We are taking our time getting each room situated as we do have busy weeks and want to enjoy our weekends as a family. Last week we took a bit of time to hang a few things in our living room. Living room done.

I have also started to use our kitchen more for baking time with Reesa. Chocolate white chip cookies for bible study. Yum!!

Yeah for baking and for Reesa loving to watch me bake and slobber all over the measuring spoons. She's just the best :)
