Kelley Family Vacay

On the 4th of July, we, all dressed in red, white, and blue and at 10am drove to Sunnyriver (aka Sunriver)!! Sorry to say we are not a "firework" family. Instead we stopped off at Sisters for coffee and lunch, made our way to the park, and concluded the evening with wine and some hot tubbing.

Monday morning Alison, Aaron, and Kristin joined us and the whole family was in Sunriver!! It was so nice to hangout with no emails, phone calls or any other planning/coordinating of schedules. We woke up every morning with French Press or delish dark coffee and had fun. We went bike riding, to the pool, on runs, hikes, to the park, played cards, did a puzzle, and just chilled with books.

This was my book of choice.

I've been wanting to read this since it came out at the beginning of the year. Six months later, it's finally in my hands and I had time to read it!! I absolutely loved it because it's part story, part research. I loved the anthropology/sociology side of her research and still enjoyed her raw honesty about life. It's now a memoir like Eat Pray Love, so if you loved that book you might not care for this one, but I found her research on the history of marriage in western culture and her international research intriguing.

Dad playing with Reesa before we headed out to dinner in Bend with Alison and Aaron.

Reesa testing out her new floaty in the kiddy pool.

Thanks to Kathy and Larry for getting this house for the last 3 years. We love spending time with family and love getting away from the city from time to time.

In other news. Reesa can now pull herself up to a standing position!! Sunday night we thought she missed her bed and couldn't wait to sleep in her crib. Wrong!! We found her standing in her crib talking after we laid her down for the evening. Too funny. Patrick has to lower her crib setting tonight so baby Reesa doesn't topple over her own bed.

Even more crazy.....Reesa will be 8 months next Tuesday. Yikes.
