Back to School

On Saturday we went to Washington Park and played at the ginormous play structure. Reesa is too little to take off by herself but the flooring is solid enough for her to crawl around.

We headed home and Reesa had her favorite: Seaweed. Yup she just loves seaweed, I think because it's lightly salted. This was the most relaxing part our our weekend.

This morning I woke up early and drove to Hayhurst Elementary. Missio has adopted this as our local elementary school. Hayhurst doesn't receive as much love as the other elementary schools in SW Portland. I had the privilege of dropping off a bouquet of flowers and some morning treats to wish them a wonderful first day of school.

I loved these flowers so much that I needed a bouquet for myself!!

As I headed home I felt happy and sad. Happy for everyone experiencing their first day back to school and happy that I could be a part of it. A little sad that I don't have a classroom of my own.

Then I walked through my door and I realized that I have my very own student :) She's better than any classroom I could ever have.
