A New Beginning in January

This week has been been filled with fun and interesting news and activity. Reesa and I have joined a new play group and are starting to get to know a few moms/kiddos in our area. Reesa and I are enjoying the walking stage. We can go anywhere and just walk. I love it!! We did a two hour trip to Washington Square and Reesa loved every minute of it, she was also totally pooped when we headed home.

I know the last few dozen posts have been about what's new with Reesa. Most of my family in California want to know what's the latest with Reesa and to be honest, she's the only one with new info and skills to share....until this week.

Patrick is in the beginning stages of making his first batch of home brewed beer!
Having a child makes most of our hobbies take a back burner and it's even more difficult if you want to start a new hobby. Nonetheless, Patrick is finally making it happen. I'm so excited to taste his very first creation. The beauty of this hobby is that not only does he get to use his awesome math skills, but that we get to use this as a social avenue and invite people over for some home brew!!

In other news, Patrick also was invited to be an Adjunct Professor at George Fox. I'm so proud of him for applying and even more happy that he was chosen for this position. He will be teaching a writing class for the Degree Completion Program at George Fox. He will be helping students reflect on their personal experiences and using writing to share those thoughts. Kuddos to my hubby the Professor.

I don't have anything too flattering to share but I may finish another book by the end of this month. I can't gloat too much because I used to be able to finish a book in a day and now it takes me a few months. I know I'm not approaching being a formerly but I feel that I'm learning what it's like to no longer be in my 20's and how your life dramatically shifts from being 20 something to being 30 something and a mom.
