Nap Time

Last month we took Reesa's crib rail down and put up a toddler rail so that she could climb out of bed in the morning. It's so cute to watch Reesa climb into bed with her blanket for naps and bedtime.

This week Reesa has decided that playing was far more fun than napping. I would walk Reesa into her room and she would lay in her bed and then about 5 minutes later I would hear her playing with her kitchen over the monitor.

We decided to wait it out figuring a toddler cannot go too many days without a nap. She just starting waking up happy and playing in her room, allowing us an extra 3o minutes or more of sleep on the weekends. Yes, some kids don't wake up happy in the morning. Reesa has been waking us up for over a year crying so you can see why we would rather try to wait this one out. Yesterday she played until 9am in her room before she even called us to open the door. I can get use to that on a weekend!!

This morning after breakfast, Reesa was ready for an early nap so we walked her up to her room. Again, 5 minutes later we heard her playing and then about 20 minutes later we heard silence. This is how we found her.

I guess it pays to be patient sometimes.
