No this is not me....Brian Condello....please no rumors. This is about our weekend. On Sunday we went for a walk at a nearby mall. Patrick wanted to get a new pair of running shoes, so we thought we would scope out the prices.
As we were enjoying our stroll in the much crowded mall full of Koreans, we both noticed that there were a lot of pregnant women and women with children around. Both of us noticed but neither of us mentioned anything to one another. Mmmmmm.... I just figured that it's a weekend and since we live in a very hip part of town, I just don't see many prego women in my neighborhood. We were 3 subways stops away. So a few seems like a lot.
After we got some info on the Kimchi museum... Yes there is a museum about the history of kimchi and even a tasting room at the end of the tour. Patrick really wants to go because it is in our Seoul guide book. We decided to head upstairs to see if there is an exhibition worth looking at. As we are heading up the escalator, Patrick mentions all the prego women. I acknowledge that there seems to be a larger number than I'm accustomed to.
As we hit the next level, our first large image, is a poster saying: Baby Fair
Ahhhhh.....everything comes together. Korea is known as one of the largest aging societies in the world. Most families have 1 or 2 children, so you could see why we both were so complex with all the baby mama's walking around.
We had a fun laugh with that one.
