Date Day

Date nights are some of the best times I have with Patrick. We get to just hangout together, just the two of us. We play cards, have life chats; it's an opportunity to talk about whatever has been on our minds. Lately it's been hard to have a date night since we've been back. We get caught up in family dinners or hanging out with friends, which is our fault because we have missed being with these people while in Korea. So, we decided to resolve the dilemma and made Saturday morning a "date day"!!

This Saturday we went to the Gorge. It was awesome. We really missed being in Oregon's greenery. We truly are blessed to be in one of the best states in the world :) Yes, we did go on a few hikes, but they were more like walks. A 2-mile loop. Some lunch. Then another 2.5 mile loop. At lunch, Patrick got a "supplies"!! His very own daddy t-shirt. He will wear it proudly.



My favorite conversation that took place that day:
mk: I think it would be fun to do a hiking/camping weekend. I love going on hikes!!
pk: Yes, but we would need all the right equipment.
mk: Like what?
pk: Hiking back packs, light-weight tents and sleeping bags. Remember seeing people with those big back packs with the pots and pans clinking?
mk: yeah??
pk: That's what we need.
mk: Oh, I don't want to do that.
pk: Then we should stick to car-camping and going on day hikes.
mk: Ok.
pk: Stop!! Sweat band check!!
mk: Check!!
pk: Switchback!!



As you can see my belly is still growing. Good-bye month 7, hello month 8!! On the way home we stopped at the Lucky Labrador for a cold beverage. I really like their lemonade. We met a guy from Brazil and we chatted with him about weather, cell phones while driving, and crime. An interesting surprise, to say the least.

It was such a relaxing day. I love date day. The evening ended with a Kelley-Geist-Nicola dinner. The topic up for discussion: Baby names. Alison pulled out her iphone, using her Spanish baby name application. The front runner, a 2-way tie between: Encarnacion y Concepcion. Tough choice, I know!!
