The Portland Marathon

This weekend was a fun and exciting one. On Friday we had sushi with James, Carrie, and Maya. Carrie and I discussed different cloth diaper options. You really feel like a mommy when your after dinner conversations entail diapers :)

Saturday was filled with baby shopping and a pasta feed preparation in honor of Patrick. While we were out at Freddie's, they had pumpkins for sale. Now, I know it's a little too early to carve, but Patrick wanted to roast fresh pumpkin seeds. How could I pass up an opportunity to carve a pumpkin? You skip an entire year of holidays and tell me that you don't miss every aspect of Oct-Nov-Dec.

Sunday at 5am, the alarm went off and we began the process to prepare for the big race. Patrick was the first customer at the Starbucks near our house. Do you see our new car seat? We finally got it out of the box and ready to go. Not for the marathon, but for when it's time to go to the hospital. At 34 weeks....it's just around the corner :)

Patrick did amazing. He had a PR of 3:38 and we were there to cheer him on. Kathy, Sadie, and I were his cheer section to the finish. He received a cool space blanket, a tree to plant, and had time to snatch a rose for us!! He's always thinking of his fans!!

This was a fun way to kick off October. Next weekend: a pumpkin patch and baby shower time.
