I Heart Fall

One of the reasons I love fall is that the colors change and it is brisk but not freezing out. You can wear warmer layers, drink warmer beverages, and eat soup!! The fall also represents the start of a new year. I know January technically begins the new year, however, being a student for most of my life and then being a teacher; the fall is our new year.

Last year we went through a lot of changes: new jobs, new place to live, new country......

This year it's the same speal: new job, new house, new baby, but......in our country!!

The month of October has been such an amazing blessing for us. We were a bit unsure as to how it was all going to work out when we decided to come home from Korea, but God has really shown love and guidance through this process of trusting in him.

Patrick received news last week that he will be on staff at George Fox. He will be an Enrollment Recruiter for the MBA/Doctoral Programs. We couldn't be more happy!! We knew this was the job for him, but had to be patient through the process. It's tough waiting for a whole month; when you know the job you want is right in front of you. Waiting sucks, but it's so worth it when you get that fantastic phone call.

This weekend we will be moving into a house in SW Portland, only a few minutes away from the Kelley family house. We are so thrilled that we do not have to live in an apartment and don't have to move too far from the area. I am absolutely in love with the Multnomah/Hillsdale area, and if I can spend the rest of my life in SW Portland, you betcha I will do my best to stay.

We are in the last few weeks of countdown on baby beano. She is well on her way. I really don't think my belly can handle much more. I'm dying to sleep on my stomach and be able to zip up a hoodie!! We took a hospital tour last week and the maternity floor looks more like a hotel than a hospital. We have wi-fi and jet tubs. Plus all the popsicles and jello I want...woo hoo.

So as you can see, we are getting settled. It took three months, but it finally feels like it is happening. Patrick is also playing indoor soccer and drums again. I have taken up sewing and still reading. My sewing masterpieces will have to be unveiled at a later time, once they are all properly placed in baby beano's room.

Patrick starts on Thursday, so we have been using the last few days to enjoy "couple time". I mean, we need a vacation from all this stress ;)

A huge thank you to everyone who has been praying for us. We are so grateful to have such wonderful friends and family like you :)

Congrats! What a fun update to read. Seems like the role for Patrick is a perfect fit at a wonderful university. I'm excited to see some pictures of your new place, too. Enjoy the last few days of couple time and the last couple of weeks before your little girl arrives. I've been thinking about you a lot lately. Take care!
