LA Style

We are back from our 10 day trip!! What a whirlwind. It all began with a phone call the afternoon before our evening flight. Patrick was in Boise and he called to tell me that his flight was canceled and he was being re-routed to LAX. We were suppose to meet in Oakland and fly to Santa Ana together. So I got my flight re-routed and would have to fly solo with Reesa. No big deal except that Reesa was now showing signs of multiple teeth coming in.

Reesa and I headed down to our favorite local store, Mother Nature's and told her that we need some help. She set me up with a natural teething oil with cloves that acts as a numbing agent and an Ergo. Yup, I finally gave in to the mommy pack. Turns out it's really comfortable and I was able to handle the stroller, diaper bag, and gate checking the stroller with ease. The flights were fine and we were able to get into our hotel shortly after 1 am.

Our first University stop: Biola. What a beautiful and relaxing campus. Reesa and I played on the grass the entire afternoon and she took a nap under the shade while I ate lunch.

Day 2 was a drive down to San Diego State. The morning was drizzly and cold, so Reesa and I found a local mall to play in until the clouds broke. Then we spent a sunny afternoon on campus.

Day 3: Westmont College in Santa Barbara. It was raining but Reesa and I decided to go to the Zoo!!

That night we made it back to downtown LA and grabbed some delish Korean food. They even played songs from popular bands in Korea and had the push call buttons on the tables.

That was the end of week one. Saturday my family drove down and spent Saturday with us. We went to the Garment District and Santa Monica. Uncle Paul and Reesa had fun hanging out together.

We had sushi at the Promenade!!

Family photo taken by Duke Soccer boys before having Pink Berry for dessert.

We ended the evening taking a stroll along the pier.

Sunday we spent the afternoon with my cousin Mikki who lives on the UCLA campus. She gave us a tour of her house and her campus. We tried to all go to Korea town but most of the stores were closed. We did however make it to In-N-Out!! Reesa loved it. She even had a little of our milkshake. :)

The rest of our days looked like this:

So Reesa and I spent most of our time in a nearby mall to play while Patrick worked. I did get some H&M time since almost every mall had one. I've been saving up so that I could shop there since our Portland store doesn't seem to be open yet.

Our last day had no rain and a little bit of sun. We went to Balboa Island and Huntington Beach.

Then we made our way back to the airport and home to Portland!! We love our city but it is fun to take an adventure every once in a while.
