Birth Week!!

On Sunday Reesa Rene Kelley will be a TWO year old!! No freakin' way...I can't wrap my head around it.

Last friday we went downtown to check out the arrival of the Christmas Tree at Pioneer Square. I had so much fun walking hand in hand with Reesa checking out the downtown scene. We watched as they put together the humongous limbs for our beautiful tree in the center of our city. We rode the escalators at Nordies, one of Reesa's favorite activities. We strolled the makeup counter as the ladies gawked at Reesa's eyelashes and super cute rain boots. Then we went to the Elephant Delicatessen and picked a small snack to enjoy at a table near a window and people watched. Before we left we had to check out the new Finnigans toy store location :)

I love that we can do these things together. I treasure these moments. I've dreamed about this since she was born, watching my little baby become a little person.

It's amazing how much growth has taken place in all of us since her Hello Kitty Party. I love how she burps and covers her mouth, laughs, and says excuse me with a giggle. I love how she asks what things are and who people are. I love how she loves music and painting. I'm not thrilled that I can never finish a meal without giving her half of it. I'm not thrilled that she will decide to use "mommy" on repeat until she has my undivided attention. I'm not thrilled that it took an entire week for her to adjust to the time change. Isn't that parenting in a nutshell?

But I love that all three of us get to be a family every day and it makes the good days awesome and the rough days bearable.

For Reesa's birthweek we did something that she loves to do each day. We had french fries, we strolled the mall and rode the escalators, mixed & baked, painted, lounged in our pj's for an entire day, played with friends, and this weekend we will have a pool party!! Mini rainbow cupcakes, sno cones, hamburgers, french fries & broccoli (even moms have their limits...we need something green & healthy). If there's time we might try to squeeze in the zoo on Sunday before church.

I know it may seem much to some but this is Reesa's last birthday that she will have all to herself and I wanted her to feel super special. I know next year will be just fine but life changes when you have two kids and I want to really enjoy and appreciate our family with just Reesa because it will be forever changed. A bit dramatic? Maybe. But I'll play the hormone card for this one ;)

A little Christmas photo shoot at Washington Square.

Reesa heading to the zoo with all her favorite animals and a sun hat to keep the rain off her hair. :)

So miss Reesa.... to you and your birth week!! We love you so much.
