Last Saturday we celebrated Reesa turning 2. She had a fun pool party with sno cones and homemade funfetti cupcakes with pink frosting. Pink...of course. After pool time we had the family come over for some bbq burgers and McMenamins french fries. Reesa's favorite meal.
On Sunday we went for a walk with Reesa's new coat, kitty, and boots. We didn't make it too far. She was in the stroller before we crossed the street. I think it took her a few days to recover from her birthday festivities.
We didn't take any photos from Thanksgiving dinner but it was nice to get together with family, eat turkey, watch old family videos, and still make it back home for bedtime.
Friday morning we woke up and headed out to the Zoo to ride the zoo train. Unfortunately it closes after Labor Day. Bummer. So we improvised and took Reesa on the max (Portland lightrail). She loved it!! We rode it downtown to Pioneer Square where we rode the escalators at Nordstrom and had a snack on the steps of the square while people-watching. Reesa really loves the action downtown, so much going on.
After naptime and dinner, Bridgeport Village was next on our list. They had fun live music playing, mini cupcakes circulating, and Santa's Workshop set up for photos. After Santa rode in on his train, they lit the tree, and we continued to dance to music. We decided to call it a day at 8:30pm and got Reesa ready for bed in a nearby family restroom where she ran into Santa!! I told her he was going to get his jammies on and go home too. :)
Saturday morning we got up and headed to our annual family u-cut spot in Multnomah Village. Here is Reesa getting the rope ready to tie our tree to the car.
Reesa loves her Christmas Tree. She reminds our kitty Steve not to eat it when he gets close and wants to drink the water. We may have pushed our limit a bit this weekend because now the whole family has head colds but I wouldn't have changed a thing!! I'm excited for December even with a stuffy head.
