It's Midnight; What Are You Doing???

That's right, it's midnight and I can't catch the zzzzz train. Bummer. What's a girl to do, but blog. I already sent a long email to my college b.f.f. That's right I still use the term b.f.f. We are 80's girls through and through and you can never shake that bond. :)

Now to blog about not being able to sleep. The stinky part about not being able to sleep is it's all my fault. I sleep in on Sundays until 10am. I might awaken around 9ish, but you will not be able to pull me out from the comfort of my warm sheets and comforter until 10. Even then the only way I get out is the sight of my red Christmas Starbucks cup with a intoxicating aroma of Christmas Blend which occupies the red paper cup. Oh, let's not forget donut holes from Dunkin'. Yup. I absolutely never ate donuts back home. For some reason it's a great reminder of home on Sundays. Patrick got me this so hideous it's awesome travel mug from Starbucks. It's bright red with the 70's look bulbs on it. Basically it rocks.

However, by not getting out of bed until 10am; I am now suffering from too much sleep and will be wiped out Monday morning as I try to revive myself from the episode of insomnia I am currently facing at the moment. Is it really worth the extra bed time on Sundays? You better believe it!!

Not only have I gotten too much sleep, my mind has been racing with all sorts of future thoughts. Will we stay another year? Should Patrick get a job back in Portland? Should we move to another country? East Coast? Do I want to work at an international school? Public? Private? Become a professor? Whoa, maybe just community college...not sure if I could devote so much time to publications. Although I think it would be cool to travel around the world writing about all the social structures within countries and how the U.S directly affects how societies are currently developing around the world. Americans really can not grasp how much influence you have on others that are millions of miles away. As indirect as it may feel, it is very much a direct affect.

Who thinks about this stuff at midnight? Someone who can't sleep.

This weekend was pretty mellow. We saw the James Bond movie. Not my favorite, but it was decently entertaining. We had a good time with our small group and I am arranging a dinner party at an Argentinian restaurant. If I can plan dinner parties at our place, we have to improvise and go out. Either way, it's nice to meet a group of people we can socialize with.

Our Senior Pastor gave a great sermon about how we need to rely on God more. We are who we are because of him. I really like hearing him speak. He doesn't use any amazing anecdotes, visuals, or any high-tech fancy stuff. He gets up there and talks about Jesus. I admire him for that. He's been nice to us and very welcoming.

On a different note, I really need to start learning some more Korean beyond hello or thank you. Tonight I went to the store to pick up some stuff after dinner and I didn't need a plastic bag for the items. As the cashier was reaching for a bag I said: "Esta bien. Gracias." Yup, I used my Spanish to a Korean. This is not the first time I have used Spanish in Korea. I frequently want to use Spanish when I need to speak to a Korean because it's the only other foreign language I know. Can you imagine the looks I get from cab drivers??

Ok, enough babbling. Time to sign off in hopes that I catch a few hours of zzzz before Monday rolls around.
