Children's Day

On Tuesday we had a nice weekday break. It just so happened to be Children's Day. What should one do on such a fun and sunny occasion? Go on a bike ride!!

And that's what we did!! The morning started out with such promise. We met at 10am at the local Starbucks, then decided to get a McDonald's breakfast, then we all had to make sure we had $ on our transportation cards.....then it was finally 11:00am, so we hit the road before it got too crowded at the park. I mean, the entire country was off and we didn't want to lose out on our bike rentals!!

Yeoido Park was...well a park. You have your trees, you have your bike paths, your crying kids on bikes, etc. A typical sunny day along the waterfront. I was especially decked out in style. I finally had reason to bust out our "extras" from the last two races we signed up for. Arm bands and sweat bands are all the rage in Korea. I didn't want to look like I was trying to hard, so I forwent the blue tape on my knees. Next time.

Patrick and I rode tandem.

It was a great day to be at the park. Jayesh almost hit two kids. Jon got called out on a game of chicken by a five year-old, and the rest of us got a little sun on our faces. We concluded the day with a stop over to a burger joint and it made my day!! All I had left in me was a nap on the couch and some West Wing.

On a Baby Mama note, I'm finishing up my first trimester this week. The doctor visit was really good today. We got our first baby dvd. So cool!! I only have a donut pudge right now but the doctor assured me that it will turn into a baby bump soon. I've finally found some frozen yogurt I like, I just need the baby bump to park the bowl :)
