"Good mornin' my love!! At 5:16am, 28 years ago I was in the hospital, I was in labor for 13 hours and you finally graced us with your presence. You were so beautiful with so much hair on your head!!!" Usually I would mumble back and say, "Love you too mom, talk to you later today when I can make full sentences."
However, being on the other side of the world, and it not even being my birthday in America yet, my mom and I did this schpeel yesterday. Not quite the same effect, but it was the thought that counts.
28. What's in store for 28? I know a lot of changes are going to take place.
We're moving back to Portland, Oregon. We're going to be parents. Wow. Still can't wrap my mind around that one yet. I'm going to have a child call me mom. No pressure. I will be taking an entire year off of work. I have never done that, and we all know I am not good at staying at home all day. I think I will be some what preoccupied :) I get to be around family again. Can't wait for that!! We get to have our kitties back!! I know they are not kitties, they will be 3 in July. They have gotten so big over the last year.

I get to carry a purse again. I've been carrying a long sling bag. I have no idea how Koreans walk everywhere with their bags on their shoulders or even their forearms. Ouch. She is a beaut. She will be waiting for me at home.
What am I doing to prepare for the new adventures that will bestow this 28 year old? Today, I will be drinking a medium Mexico blend from Starbucks. Typically I always buy bold, but I figure to get ready for the new changes, I should start small and try something out of the ordinary. Baby steps. You have to crawl before you can walk, and I can't walk out of my house without a cup of coffee.
