Getting Lost....It Never Ends

This morning is our official 3-week countdown mark until we have the van come lug away our belongings that have lasted us an entire year. We will say goodbye to our closet that has become our home for the year of 2008-09. We are anxious to have familiarity again. You would think after an entire year of being out here some things would have become easier. As there is some truth to that, it's not the case for our ability to get lost!!

Yesterday we went to our last baseball game. We decided to go a few hours early, purchase good seats, and then take a stroll to the Han River and walk along the river while enjoying ice cream. We got as far as the tickets. As we are heading in the correct direction towards the river, we came across several buildings and express lanes that are some what of a block to reach our destination. It turns out there are parts of Seoul that are not designed to be reached unless it is directly by bus, car, or subway. Pedestrians are not allowed access by merely walking. With such an utter feeling of defeat, we sat on a bench in a small park that smelled of manure while we watch a helicopter land in an area of the Han River with such ease. Talk about salt on a wound!!

How have we managed to keep our spirits up during these moments? I'll tell you, because after the game, we were laughing about how our difficulty turns into a distance memory because we have such good teamwork. We both start off happy for an adventure. Then about an hour into our "walk", I start to get frustrated and then Patrick starts to talk about all the positive aspects of our walk. Once we decide to head back and get something to eat before the game, Patrick gets frustrated that we never got to the Han River. Then it's my turn to talk about how fun it was to go on a random adventure with no destination. Eventually our exhaustion gets the best of us and we have no choice but to accept the time being lost and enjoy the ball game!!

And that is what we did. In the misty haze we enjoyed a ball game, with pizza, beer, and of course the classic bag of dried squid. We only got a few shots of the game before it began to really downpour. We stuck it out with plastic panchos for the entire 9 innings.

Our male cheerleader had such passion in his face while singing his songs. He also loves to use his whistle. We can't say that for our ladies spirit duo. They were more worried about memorizing their dance moves than interacting with the audience. Kinda fun to watch.

We still got our ice cream, it was just after the game, and on our couch at 9pm.

I can't wait to find out when getting lost, or even just way turned around, comes to an end... 2+ years here and it still happens. Praying for you both - that you drink in every experience and moment of the next few weeks!!! And that He will meet you in amazing and unexpected ways!! Hugs to you both!!!
