We are proud parents :)
A few facts from Reesa's two month check-up:
1. She is 11lbs 7oz. She is in the 70% for weight.
2. She is 23.5 inches long, which is in the 90% for height.
The doc said not to worry that we are raising a super star grower. Breastfed babies tend to grow at a faster rate the first 4 months and then begin to slow down after that. She will still grow, just not at an alarming rate based on looking at how tall Patrick and I are. Good to know.
We did experience our first crying episode that lasted on/off for two hours. After Reesa had her first round of immunization shots, the doctor mentioned she might be uncomfortable so we should give her Tylenol every 4-6 hours. Well after her first dose, exactly 4 hours to the minute, she began crying like she was in pain and would not stop even if we held her. I felt really bad for her because I saw the nurse give her the shots and they were adult size needles accompanied by adult size band-aids on her little legs. She looked liked she had surgery :( I think at one point when Patrick was trying to comfort us both, I had told him that Reesa is hurting because the nurse shot her. Patrick tried to tell me otherwise, but I told him that I was there; the nurse shot my baby three times!! Reesa and I sat in her room and cried together until her drugs kicked in and she calmed down enough to eat and passed out for the night. Fortunately Reesa awoke the next morning as her happy and healthy self. Whew!!
My favorite photo of the week.
