If we are able to attend the performing arts every year, I will be a happy camper. Last year we saw RENT in Korean. Awesome!! The year before that we saw Riverdance. I think Patrick regrets that one because I was dancing like Michael Flatley for two weeks. This time I was singing Xanadu music and pretending like I was a feathered-hair blondie with roller skates on.

Lets just say the entire night was filled with men in short shorts, girls in glitter, and the main actress in leg warmers and roller skates trying to empower a young struggling artist in Venice Beach to possess the power of Xanadu so that he would open up his own roller derby. Basically the best story line ever!!

I wanted to dress up but I was afraid others might think I was crazy so I wore my electric blue tights instead. Turns out I would have been fine, but it's not everyday this new mommy gets to wear a skirt. Forget the skirt, I mean comb my hair. Last week I drove to the store and realized I hadn't even looked in the mirror that day otherwise I would have realized that I had left the house with my hair in half a bun and the other half dangling down the side. Soooo cute.

In addition to the long MLK weekend, my bff came out from Phoenix to visit me and meet Reesa. It was so nice to see Ally. The last time we had seen each other was for her wedding and that was in 2008!! We just relaxed and drank coffee, strolled 23rd, and had dinner at the local pubs in Portland. I think the best part was getting pampered at the Nordstrom downtown at the Dior counter. I love Nordstrom and Ally. Perfect combo.

Ally and I have been friends since 1999. She's the oldest and dearest friend I have. Her and Reesa had some good times that weekend. She got to see the inner workings of newly made parents. Good times. I love spending time with Ally; she's so smart and always has something interesting to talk about.

An all-around fabulous weekend.
